Breast Lift – Mommy Makeover Corpus Christi

Mommy Makeover Corpus Christi

Mommy makeovers are becoming more and more common for women who want to reward themselves with better bodies after childbirth. A mommy makeover is a series of surgeries intended to correct several cosmetic issues at once. It can involve any combination of a breast lift, breast augmentation, tummy tuck, liposuction, and more.

A breast lift, also called a mastopexy or a breast rejuvenation, is used to tighten the skin of the breast area, removing stretchmarks and adding shape to the breast. It combats ptosis, the medical term for drooping skin. During mommy makeovers, it is sometimes coupled with breast augmentation; this coupling is termed an augmentopexy.

There are many types of breast lift, each defined by their incision size and shape. Your surgeon will help you choose one based on your needs and goals and may have his or her own variations. It’s helpful to have some knowledge of the basic types before a consultation.

An anchor lift (or inverted-T lift), primarily for women with larger breasts and used to combat severe cases of ptosis, allows for a great deal of control and skin tissue removal. The incision involves a circle around the areola, a vertical incision downwards, and a crescent-shaped incision (the bottom of the anchor shape) at the bottom crease of the breast.

The Benelli-Lollipop method is for women with medium-sized breasts. Like the anchor, this involves a circle around the areola and a vertical incision downwards. However, because of the smaller breast size, no crescent anchor bottom is needed.

The Benelli Lift (or periareolar lift, or concentric mastopexy) is one option for women with smaller breasts. To begin, a circle is cut around the areola, followed by a larger circle around that. The skin between the two circles is then removed.

The crescent lift is the most minor breast lift option. The surgeon creates a crescent-shaped cut right above the upper edge of the areola. Excess skin is removed from this area, and the remaining skin is brought together for stitching.
