Rounder and curvier backsides are currently considered more attractive than ever.

Butt liftImplants may not be suitable for everybody and lunges often won’t produce the desired results. Thankfully, there’s an alternative to creating a more shapely rear: the Brazilian Butt Lift. The Brazilian Butt Lift is two procedures in one. First, fat is removed from one part of the body using liposuction to sculpt and slim. Then, the fat is reintroduced into the buttocks for added volume. Together, these procedures are known as the Brazilian Butt Lift: the peak of body contouring.

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

A Brazilian Butt Lift is a procedure that increases the size and shape of the buttocks by means of fat grafting.

Fat grafting is the process of removing fat from one part of the body and reintroducing it into another part of the body. The fat is removed using liposuction, which means that patients have the opportunity to slim down a part of their body where they may have stubborn excess fat deposits. Common locations for liposuction include the abdomen, flanks (love handles), back, and inner and outer thighs. However, the best locations for liposuction depend on the unique anatomy of the patient and will be determined at the time of the consultation. Then, the fat is purified and reintroduced into the buttocks for augmentation. Over the course of a few months, the fat begins to take to the new location and will give the buttocks a curvier shape with a natural look and feel.

Benefits of a Brazilian Butt Lift

butt lift Perhaps the biggest appeal of the Brazilian Butt Lift is that the procedure uses tissue from the patient’s own body. This means there is no introduction of synthetic or inorganic materials and, therefore, no chance of an untoward reaction. Plus, the results look and feel incredibly natural.

Furthermore, the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure is extremely effective at producing the enhanced yet natural looking results that patient’s desire. It is a big draw for patients who want to increase the size and shape of their buttocks, but are also interested in slimming and sculpting another part of their body. For example, some patients may have excess fat in their abdomen, back, or thighs that will not respond to diet and exercise. For patients like these, a Brazilian Butt Lift may be an excellent procedure.

Here are just a few more of the many benefits of a Brazilian Butt Lift:

  • Results are apparent almost after a few weeks
  • Patients can customize the results they desire
  • Long lasting results
  • Greatly enhanced shape and contour of the buttocks
  • Improved body proportions
  • Promotes confidence with one’s appearance

Brazilian Butt Lift vs Implants

In general, since a Brazilian Butt Lift uses the body’s own fat, the outcome looks and feels more natural than implants. However, a Brazilian Butt Lift may not offer the same dramatic results that implants can offer or the same volume. Often Dr. Gentile combines both procedures to obtain the maximum result.

Nonetheless, there are fewer risks associated with a Brazilian Butt Lift over implants. Some of the risks of implants include capsule and dislocation. If the implants cause any adverse side effect, then the patient will require further operations. Dr. Gentile is highly skilled at performing butt augmentation with implants and fat transfer. The ideal procedure for a given case will depend on the patient’s case specifics and desired results.

Fat grafting is the current preferred method of buttocks augmentation. However, the only way to determine the best cosmetic procedure for one’s body and lifestyle is by meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon like Dr. Hervé Gentile.

Good Candidates

Good candidates for a Brazilian Butt Lift should be nonsmokers who have excess fat on their body that can be used for fat grafting. Thinner patients may not be good candidates for a Brazilian Butt Lift. Furthermore, patients should be in good health and at a stable body weight and have already reached their goal weight. Significant weight loss after a Brazilian Butt Lift may negatively impact the results of the procedure, meaning the results might shrink.

Patients should have realistic expectations for the outcome of the surgery and understand the limitations of what can be achieved.

Dr. Gentile will provide patients with Before and After pictures of previous clients at the time of their consultation so they can get a good idea of the surgical outcomes, but please keep in mind that results will vary for each individual since this is a highly customizable procedure.

Although the majority of Brazilian Butt Lift patients are women, an increasing number of men are adding natural volume to their behinds as well.

In order to determine one’s candidacy, we ask all prospective patients to request a consultation at Dr. Gentile’s Corpus Christi, Texas office.

Procedure Information

Patients will be placed commonly under general anesthesia during the procedure, which will be discussed with Dr. Gentile at the time of the consultation. Once in the operating room, a Brazilian Butt Lift can be broken down into three steps.

  1. Fat is harvested from one or more desired locations in the body using liposuction. The fat is drained through a cannula and collected.
  2. The harvested fat is then purified. This helps remove unwanted materials from the fat, so that it is as pure as possible. The purer the fat is, the better it will take to the augmented areas.
  3. The harvested purified fat is injected into the buttocks. It is introduced in small amounts across the desired area and at varying depths. This gives the newly added fat the best access to blood flow and will increase the likelihood that the fat will take to the desired location. In most cases, not all of the fat will graft to the buttocks and some will be reabsorbed and naturally processed by the body. For this reason, Dr. Gentile will slightly overcompensate in the amount of fat he injects. For your safety we have proudly introduced a new technique: to avoid the dreadful complication of infiltrating fat deep to your muscle thereby causing fat embolism we do the entire procedure under guided ultrasound. Additional sessions may be necessary to reach the desired result.

After the procedure, Dr. Gentile will take the patient into a recovery room where his highly trained staff with attend to the patient’s needs. They will help the patient comfortably wake up from anesthesia, if necessary, and provide the patient with bandages and dressings to aid in healing. We ask that all patients make arrangements for a ride home after the operation.

Recovery

Recovery is an extremely important part of achieving the final results of a Brazilian Butt Lift.

Patients should wear the garment for the prescribed amount of time in order to aid in the healing process. The most important thing to do is to avoid applying pressure on the fat grafted areas. Patients will be instructed to sleep on their stomach or side and limit the amount of time they spend sitting for the first 3 weeks. They should not rest their butts against chairs for several more weeks following the procedure. They should instead use a cushion to sit on at all times. This is to ensure that the maximum amount of fat survives in the augmented areas.

Relatively minor side effects include bruising, swelling, and soreness. Discomfort can be controlled with a prescription medication prescribed by Dr. Gentile. Patients will also be asked to return for at least two follow-up appointments after their procedure, so that Dr. Gentile can monitor the patient’s healing and help ensure the best possible results.

The final results of a Brazilian Butt Lift can take several months to finalize but generally appear at 6 weeks.

Consultation and Cost

The consultation is an extremely important part of the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure. During the Brazilian Butt Lift consultation at our Corpus Christi location, Dr. Gentile will determine whether or not a patient would be a good candidate for the operation. In order to do this, he will ask about the patient’s medical history and perform a physical examination.

Depending on Dr. Gentile’s findings, he will explain to the patient why they are or are not a good candidate for the procedure. In some cases, Dr. Gentile may recommend an alternative or additional procedure in order to achieve their desired results.

At the time of the consultation, patients will have the opportunity to schedule their procedure date. Dr. Gentile will go over all of the procedure instructions, including preparation and a recovery. He works closely with all patients to develop a personalized plan that fits their body and lifestyle.

Since a Brazilian Butt Lift is such a highly customizable procedure, it is difficult to provide a price estimate without Dr. Gentile first meeting and examining the patient. After the consultation, Dr. Gentile will be able to take into account factors that can influence the cost, including anesthesia, the amount of liposuction, postoperative garments, and more.
